The third draft of China's Personal Information Protection Law was submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee for deliberation. The latest draft of the bill includes enhanced rules on handling personal information, additional measures to protect children's data and sections on data portability. Meanwhile, the Stanford University DigiChina Cyber Policy Center reports that China's State Council released the "Critical Information Infrastructure Security Protection Regulations" as part of China's Cybersecurity Law. The regulations will be effective next month.
