Cyberattacks on health care systems are still occurring at a significant rate and one of the negative consequences of the attacks are data breach lawsuits and their financial impacts, Becker’s IT Health reports. The report summarized five major data breach lawsuits so far in 2022. The lawsuits included QRS, a health IT company, that had data of 320,000 patients exposed, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s Broward Health that is facing a potential class-action lawsuit after data of 1.35 million patients was exposed in an attack in October 2021.
