The personal data of hundreds of federal government employees who claimed pay damages from the Phoenix pay system was exposed in a mass email sent to more than 200 claimants, CBC News reports. The email sent by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “due to an administrative error” included claimants’ personal and work emails, many showing full or partial names, so recipients could see who applied for compensation with the secretariat’s claim office. The Privacy Commissioner of Canada is investigating the breach.
