TechCrunch reports France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertes, issued a preliminary notice of a 60 million euro fine to advertising technology company Criteo over EU General Data Protection Regulation violations. The fine stems from the investigation of a 2018 complaint into Criteo's data processing practices related to targeted advertising and user profiling. "We find the merits of this report to be fundamentally flawed, and the proposed sanctions to be incommensurate with the alleged non-compliant actions," Criteo said in a statement.
