France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, and the Cybermalveillance.gouv.fr, a government-sponsored cybersecurity initiative, jointly published guidance for municipalities' cybersecurity practices. The CNIL said the guide aims bringing local elected officials and territorial agents up to speed on cybersecurity obligations and potential liability. Specifically on obligations, the guidance outlines responsibilities related to data protection, local teleservice implementation, and health data storage and retention.
