Court of Justice of the European Union Advocate General Giovanni Pitruzzella issued an opinion on a case related to a data subject's right to dereferencing from internet searches. Pitruzzella opined that a dereferencing cannot be made by simple data subject request, noting an individual must "provide prima facie evidence of the false nature of the content." Additionally, Pitruzzella said public figures will be held to a higher standard of proof when seeking dereferencing.
