Children’s safety groups are urging the U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office to use powers under the Children’s Code to introduce age verification for publicly accessible adult websites, the Guardian reports. The ICO has said the code is not intended to impose such measures while Secretary of the Children’s Charities’ Coalition on Internet Safety John Carr said the coalition is prepared to pursue legal action if the agency fails to act.
