U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation Chair Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., doubled down on her opposition to the proposed American Data Privacy and Protection Act, The Spokesman-Review reports. Responding to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce's approval of the ADPPA, Cantwell reiterated her issues with the perceived "weak" enforcement measures, saying the House is taking "a long time to come to reality about what strong enforcement looks like." She also opined that "civil rights groups have been infiltrated by people who are trying to push them to support a weak bill."
