Privacy Commissioner of Canada Philippe Dufresne told members of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security he supports Bill C-26 to help strengthen the country's cyber infrastructure network while protecting citizens' privacy. "This is not a zero-sum game and privacy and the public interest are not only compatible — they build on and strengthen one another," he said.
