The Canadian government published a companion document with key information about the proposed Artificial Intelligence and Data Act. The AIDA is contained within the proposed omnibus Bill C-27, the Digital Charter Implementation Act, which was tabled last year. The "new regulatory system" the AIDA establishes represents "the first step" toward guiding "AI innovation in a positive direction, and to encourage the responsible adoption of AI technologies by Canadians and Canadian businesses."
