CTV News reports the location data of individuals traveling to Canada may have been accessed by the Canadian government via a government-supplied mobile application. A U.K.-based research firm alleges Canada's ArriveCAN app, which helps incoming travelers notify the government of their COVID-19 status, went against its privacy policy with the use of GPS and location tracking. In a statement, the Public Health Agency of Canada denied the allegations, noting "access to the GPS location would need explicit permission from the user."
