Brazilian banking customers now have new rules for the protection of their personal data following the approval of the SARB 25 Regulation by the Brazilian Federation of Banks’ Self-Regulation Council in December 2021, according to its website. The SARB 25 Regulation established guidelines to be adopted by financial institutions to strengthen protections for consumers' personal data and to adhere to the General Data Protection Law. The rule included the establishment of a specific channel for data subjects by facilitating customer contact and quick response times for data subjects.
