BNSF Railway hired the Jones Day law firm to represent it in "settlement negotiations" over allegations its collection of workers fingerprints violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Reuters reports. In June, U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Kennelly upheld a jury's verdict that BNSF violated the BIPA, but vacated USD228 million in damages and ordered a new trial on damages.
