Biometric Update reports class-action lawsuits brought against Amazon and Clearview AI over alleged Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act violations were cleared to proceed following motions to dismiss. The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington ruled against dismissal of Amazon's case, deeming the company to be "rehashing its failed arguments" on its collection and processing of biometric data. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois turned back Clearview's argument that claims were coming from out of the court's jurisdiction.
