U.S. President Joe Biden announced two Republican nominations for commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission. Biden nominated Solicitor General of the Commonwealth of Virginia Andrew Ferguson and Utah Solicitor General Melissa Holyoak. FTC Chair Lina Khan said Ferguson and Holyoak "would bring key skills, experiences, and expertise to the Commission as we work to promote fair competition and protect Americans from unfair or deceptive practices." Two commissioner seats are open on the five-commissioner bench while three current commissioners are Democrats.
