U.S. President Joe Biden announced the nomination of Travis LeBlanc as a member of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. LeBlanc, a partner at Cooley and vice chair of the cyber, data and privacy practice, served as a member of the board since 2019, with his term ending Jan. 29. Prior to his time on the board, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission appointed LeBlanc to serve as arbitrator under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield framework.
