The European Consumer Organisation released an opinion paper on the EU-New Zealand Trade Agreement, highlighting strong safeguards for personal data under the deal. The BEUC said its review of the agreement shows the EU and New Zealand view data protection as a "first priority" when personal data moves across borders while noting New Zealand previously maintained a "more flexible approach for companies."
