Apple has removed references to its child sexual abuse material scanning feature from its website, TechCrunch reports. The feature, which could identify CSAM content on a users’ device, raised concerns from privacy advocates and others, leading Apple to announce a delay in its rollout in September. The website included a CSAM overview and stated the feature would be “coming later this year in updates” up until Dec. 10. Apple spokesperson Shane Bauer said, “nothing has changed” regarding the delay of the feature.
