Apple released emergency software updates to close a flaw that allows Israeli spyware company NSO Group to infect its products, The New York Times reports. Security researchers at Citizen Lab discovered the vulnerability, which infects devices without users’ knowledge. It can turn on the camera and microphone, and record sent messages, texts, emails and calls to NSO clients. “This spyware can do everything an iPhone user can do on their device and more,” Citizen Lab Senior Researcher John Scott-Railton said.
