An advisor to the board of directors of Brazil's data protection authority, the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, testified to the Chamber of Deputies Commission on Science, Technology and Innovation regarding data protection impacts of blockchain in public administration. Jeferson Dias Barbosa told lawmakers "there are still risks" with blockchain despite limited personal data consumption, including data breaches and nonconsensual identification based on personally identifiable information.
