The Amsterdam District Court, Rechtbank Amsterdam, ordered online advertiser Criteo to halt third-party cookie use and take corrective measures or face daily fines for noncompliance. Following findings in favor of plaintiff's claim of nonconsensual cookie placement, Criteo must honor the plaintiff's requests for access, receipt and deletion, while informing third parties of the requests. Maximum total fines for noncompliance with each of the six court orders could reach 85,000 euros in addition to attorney's fees.
