TechCrunch reports genetic testing company 23andMe's October data breach swept up 6.9 million individuals after the company initially reported approximately 14,000 individuals were affected. The newly-discovered depth of the breach came after the company learned individuals utilizing the consent-based DNA Relatives feature, which automatically shares some of their data with others, had their data accessed by hackers.
