In an episode of The New York Times' "Sway" podcast, Kara Swisher chats with 23andMe CEO Anne Wojcicki about privacy and security concerns that have come about with building a genetic database. Wojcicki emphasized the opt-in nature of 23andMe's business, noting her goal is to "always provide choice and transparency" while also alluding to a lack of transparency around data sharing in general. Wojcicki also considers health care systems to be "the biggest offenders in privacy" given exemptions they have from privacy and data protection regulations around the world.
