Zimbabwe on the cusp of finalizing data protection law

Techzim reports Zimbabwe's Cybersecurity and Data Protection Bill is headed for presidential approval after passing the Senate of Zimbabwe. The proposed law includes data processor and controller requirements, rules for data collection, codes of conduct provisions for international data transfers and more. Regulatory powers for the law will fall to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, though concerns remain regarding POTRAZ's role and government access to data.
