On Wednesday, the U.K. released a draft Brexit agreement and declaration on the future relationship with the EU. According to Bird & Bird's Ruth Boardman, the draft agreement means that "EU data protection law will continue to apply generally in the U.K. during the transition period, meaning there will be no immediate restriction of data transfers to the U.K. when the U.K. Brexits, on March 29, 2019. The U.K. will, however, cease to participate in the European Data Protection Board and the so-called one-stop-shop procedures of the GDPR."
