A combination of annual reports and freedom-of-information requests reveal British government departments experienced thousands of data breaches in 2019 and 2020, IT Pro reports. The HM Passport Office notably sent 1,291 data breach incident reports to the U.K. Information Commissioner's Office between 1 Aug. 2019 and 31 July 2020. All but 11 of those incidents included personal data. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency reported 181 data breach incidents to the ICO, according to its annual report.
