The U.K. Office for Artificial Intelligence, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy released details on Britain’s national AI strategy. The agencies set key actions over the next 12 months and beyond, focusing on investment and planning for long-term needs, transitioning to an AI-enabled economy, and encouraging innovation and investment through governance of AI technologies. “AI will be central to how we drive growth and enrich lives, and the vision set out in our strategy will help us achieve both of those vital goals,” the agencies said.
