  • The Dallas Morning News reports its own investigation of student surveillance in Texas schools revealed 200 districts statewide contract with monitoring technology providers. The technologies used include Social Sentinel, Gaggle, Securly and GoGuardian. Monitoring services range from public social media monitoring to other student device tracking.
  • Government Technology reports the New York Civil Liberties Union's lawsuit against the use of facial recognition by a school district in Lockport, New York, was dismissed.
