To meet the rising demand for new technologies, South Korea’s Financial Services Commission said it will consider adopting a U.S.-style data-sharing regulation, The Korea Herald reports. Currently, financial institutions must have users agree to the collection of their personal data for wider use. Under the plan, firms could collect and use “non-essential” personal data and could allow third parties to collect data on users’ financial transactions.
