A report by the Surveillance Studies Centre at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, found Canadians are unaware of what information is being collected about them or how it is used, The Globe and Mail reports. The report cites advances in widespread digital technology with regulations unable to keep up and says more transparency is needed in data collection and analysis. “Few can keep up with the speed and magnitude of changes in data analysis and use, which means less protection, especially for the most vulnerable,” the report said.
