Hong Kong’s Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data Ada Chung published a booklet to help the public and businesses better understand China’s Personal Information Protection Law. The document includes PIPL’s major requirements and a comparison to Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Chung said it will help individuals and businesses “to better understand the regulatory regime on the protection of personal information in the Mainland, thereby enabling them to seize, and prosper from, the opportunities arising from developments in the Mainland.”
