Online mental health therapy app BetterHelp was sued in a federal class-action lawsuit for allegedly sharing user data with third parties, MediaPost reports. According to court filings, the lead plaintiff allegedly paid more than USD2,000 for therapy between January 2020 and October 2022. Many of the allegations against BetterHelp stem from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s enforcement action, in which the company agreed to pay USD7.8 million for allegedly selling sensitive user data.
