OECD updates its definition of artificial intelligence

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development adopted a new definition of "artificial intelligence," which will inform the basis of defining AI within the proposed EU AI Act, Euractiv reports. The OECD's AI definition updates the group's 2019 principles for trustworthy AI policies. Meanwhile, European Parliament AI Act co-rapporteur Brando Benifei said the proposed legislation, once passed into law, could serve as model legislation for the rest of the world in regulating the technology, Reuters reports.
