The Nigerian National Information Technology Development Agency recently announced it trained nearly 5,800 citizens on the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation last year, the Nigerian Tribune reports. NITDA Director General Mallam Kashifu Inuwa said Nigeria licensed 103 Data Protection Compliance Organizations, which created roughly 7,680 jobs. The purpose of the NDPR is to encompass the safeguards for a person’s dignity, their livelihoods and the state’s socioeconomic integrity in an interconnected, digital world.
