EURACTIV reports EU Justice Commissioner Věra Jourová plans to "launch a massive information campaign" to "tell people about the new rights that the data protection reform brings to them." With the EU General Data Protection Regulation adopted last year, Jourová said, "I do not want people to be paranoid. I just want them to know who is handling their data and what he or she will do with their data. I want people to give really conscious consent that can be withdrawn if they so wish. ... People should know where they can complain. They must know about their rights for compensation. People often do not know these things and the change must be made by the Commission and by member states."
