Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission warned OpenAI it may take action over concerns about the company's collection of sensitive data for machine learning that powers ChatGPT, Reuters reports. The PIPC said OpenAI should minimize the data it collects and do so with permission while asking the company to consider a balance between privacy protections and potential benefits of generative artificial intelligence.
