ICO urges stronger data protection for victims of abuse

The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office warned organizations regarding the need to increase data protection and security concerning sensitive information belonging to victims of domestic abuse. The warning comes as the ICO issued seven reprimands in 14 months over data breaches involving domestic abuse victims. "This is a pattern that must stop. Organisations should be doing everything necessary to protect the personal information in their care." Information Commissioner John Edwards said.
