Hong Kong's Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data is considering limiting access to messenger service Telegram, Bloomberg reports. The potential restriction came after it was found to be rampant with doxxed personal data of government officials and citizens. If access is restricted, fears may return that the Chinese government will further erode civil liberties in Hong Kong after the passage of national security legislation in 2020.
