ZDNet reports government officials in Singapore turned back claims that students are being tracked by software installed on devices by the Ministry of Education. The ministry said its device management application does monitor a user's online activities, including search histories, to "restrict access to objectionable material," but the software does not collect students' location data or passwords. The defense comes after an online petition alleged the software invaded students' privacy, warranting the software's removal.
