Google, New Mexico reach settlement over children’s privacy claims

Google and New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas reached a settlement over allegations the company’s AdMob platform enabled a game developer to illegally collect personal data from young users, MediaPost reports. The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed. U.S. District Court Judge Martha Vasquez last year dismissed similar claims against Twitter and other advertising technology companies, filed in 2018, but ruled the allegations against Google could move forward. Meanwhile, Balderas appealed separate children's privacy claims against Google's education technology suite.
