Google is making the final preparations to phase out browsing cookies in its Chrome browser by the end of 2024, The Wall Street Journal reports. Beginning 4 Jan., the company launched a test to restrict cookies for 1% of Chrome users, ahead of the full planned phase-out by year's end. Internet advertising stakeholders called on Google to extend the phase-out to allow for marketers to test replacement technologies.
