The Future of Privacy Forum asked the Pasco County, Florida, Sheriff's Office to end a program that allegedly uses student data to profile potential future criminals, the Tampa Bay Times reports. In its analysis, FPF claimed the program violates law enforcement's contract with the school board and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. The Sheriff's Office stood by its practices, noting the program "continues to stand by this program that keeps students safe."
