Euractiv reports members of European Parliament are drafting a new compromise proposal for the proposed Digital Services Act that would alter provisions around targeted advertising. The new proposal being considered by MEPs would extend the ban on targeted advertising against minors to include all online platforms instead of companies with more than 45 million EU users. The text also includes new language on prohibiting targeting based on sensitive data as defined by the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The French Presidency of the European Council recently made a similar compromise proposal.
