Chair of the LIBE Committee Claude Moraes is leading a group of Civil Liberties MEPs to South Korea to discuss data protection issues with the country’s authorities. The visit is part of efforts between the European Union and South Korea to reach an adequacy decision on data transfers between the two areas. The MEPs will be in South Korea between Oct. 29 and Nov. 2 and are scheduled to meet with representatives of the Korean Ministry of Interior and Safety and the Vice-Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as members of the Korean Communications Commission.
