The European Economic Area Joint Committee has formally adopted a decision to incorporate the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield adequacy decision into the EEA Agreement, which recognizes the framework as a valid mechanism to transfer data from EEA member states to the U.S. This will include Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The text of the decision will also be published in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. The decision entered into force July 8, "provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made," the joint committee decision states.
