Former New Zealand privacy commissioner John Edwards has been confirmed as the new U.K. Information Commissioner. Edwards’ five-year term begins Jan. 3. A press release from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport said Edwards “will bring with him a wealth of data regulatory experience — as privacy commissioner but also from 20 years — practicing law and specialising in information law.”
