TechCrunch reports Ireland Data Protection Commissioner Helen Dixon told members of European Parliament this year will further demonstrate effective EU General Data Protection Regulation enforcement. She characterized an "even bigger year" ahead for enforcement "on (the) foot of DPC large scale investigations." Dixon cited upcoming final decisions on inquiries into TikTok and Yahoo as examples. She also pointed to "decision making by committee," referring to cross-border GDPR cases considered by the European Data Protection Board, as a factor in the time it takes to finalize decisions.
