The Washington Post reports spies with Russia’s foreign intelligence service breached cybersecurity firm FireEye’s servers, though the company did not attribute the breach to Russia. FireEye CEO Kevin Mandia said sensitive hacking tools used to detect weaknesses in customers’ computer networks were stolen, and information related to certain government customers was targeted. The breach is under investigation by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, which said early indications “show an actor with a high level of sophistication consistent with a nation-state.”
