Chile’s Council for Transparency is advocating for a regulatory framework and transparency regarding automated decisions that use artificial intelligence. In a release, the council said the framework should determine “the rights and responsibilities of the different actors” and establish “the ideal mechanisms for the control and protection of personal data that are used to build the algorithms.” A representative said approval of the draft Law on Protection of Personal Data and establishing an authoritative body is “increasingly urgent.”
