Several information privacy groups and a former Facebook executive filed a friend-of-the-court brief in support of California Age Appropriate Design Code amid a federal legal challenge of the law, MediaPost reports. In the brief, former Facebook executive Frances Haugen urged a federal judge to reject an effort by technology industry group NetChoice, which claims the code violates the First Amendment and is "unconstitutionally vague." Haugen and others said the law "is a sensible and effective means of confronting tech’s harmful business model."
